Missed Misscarrige.. Help!!!!!?

I am 9 weeks 3 days. & at 5 weeks 3 days I had a ultra sound done at hospital and everything looked good, I then went back at 7 weeks and everything was still going good baby had grown and there was a heartbeat.. Now I had gone to hospital both times because I was spotting brown discharge.. It was still here last week so my OB sent me to have an ultra sound done at this place where its a top notch machine, this vaginal u/s only took maybe 5 minutes if that & this guy claims he saw no heartbeat & my baby stopped growing at 6weeks 4days. Then how at 7 weeks did the hospital see heartbeat? My question is if I had a missed misscarrige how long will I spot the brown? Ive been spotting brown discharge for exactly a month now.. Wouldnt the baby have passed by now? I am having my pregnancy hormone levels tested my first test was a good strong high. Im having my second test done today.. Im just wondering how this all adds up, && like I said after a month of spotting brown discharge wouldnt the baby have passed threw by this time?
